Recently I came across a unique concept called SKETCH in London's Mayfair district.
SKETCH is an eclectic mix of restaurants and galleries all happily housed together on two floors of a townhouse. It was conceived by French master chef Pierre Gagnaire and restaurateur Mazouz. The creators of SKETCH envisioned a "destination place for food art and music" - a lovely idea!
One of the restaurants within SKETCH is "Gallery" and it caught my eye because it is drenched in one of the happiest colors of the wheel, Pink! It does not, however , resemble a little girls bedroom. Instead the spaces appear sophisticated and calming. Designed by India Mahdahvi in a monochromatic palette, the materials are rich and include gold leaf, brass and chevron patterned marble floors. Sumptuous banquettes beckon you to sit back, relax and enjoy the evening.
Every two years an artist is commissioned and given carte blanche to adorn the space however they see fit. (Love this idea!) Today 239 playful sketches by British artist David Shrigley surround the dining room area. David also designed the ceramic tableware.

The space can also be rented for private events. Afternoon tea is served daily and if you are planning a visit to London soon, stop by the SKETCH website to learn more about the other galleries, events and restaurants HERE
Until Next Time,
