Happy Holidays!

Howdy from Dallas Dears....
It has been a fabulous holiday with family here in the Lone Star State with even a little snow to boot!
So let's start with a gorgeous holiday door
all dolled up and ready for its close up....

Now that this year has almost ended (Can you believe it?!)
I am so grateful for all that has been accomplished and even though I have much more to do in 2013 I can close the door on 2012 with a Texas sized smile on my face.

For starters my new custom -made to order- luxury clothing line Della Terasi has finally launched!  It is the only place you can order gorgeous authentic Fortuny and Ikat clothing and accessories in your favorite styles.

View the Della Terasi website HERE !
And look for an article about us in the Jan/Feb issue of DC Modern Luxury magazine.

The lovely Marisa Marcantonio of STYLEBEAT
also featured Della Terasi in her truly gifted hostess guide!

She is an amazingly gracious lady and we are beyond thrilled to be featured in her stylish trend setting blog.  Thank you Marisa!

In addition one of my large design projects in Gulfstream, FL is finally showing visible progress.  As promised my next post will include a few photos....For now I bid farewell to 2012 and wish all of my readers the best in the new year!

LA Girlies: Heidi Merrick & Jenni Kayne

Let me introduce you to a couple of uber chic US
designers you may not have heard of.....

Heidi Merrick

The daughter of legendary surfboard shaper Al Merrick, Heidi is a LA based clothing designer I'm a HUGE fan of.  HUGE.

Forget the fact that her heritage is super cool,
"Easy and Edgy" is how I would describe her looks...full of that  relaxed California vibe that looks put together but not TOO styled....I also adore the fact that every stitch is sewn in LA and not overseas.  Gotta love that!
Holiday 2012 looks....those masks are the bomb.
Would love sunnies made to match hint hint...
Check out Heidi's website HERE!

Another one of my LA based favs is

Jenni Kayne

Jenni's LA Boutique

Jenni and her son in New Zealand - love this pic!

Jenni like Heidi has been around for a while and is famous for her D'orsay flats which come in LOTS of styles and colors and are a great way to add instant edge to a look.

Jenni has the same laid back yet put together vibe.
Check out her website HERE!

Who wants to stress over their look in the a.m?
These girlies make it easy to style yourself in seconds.  So next time you have a shopping need to scratch, forget the mall.  Surf over to these designer's websites and spread the love for some US based talent.  You'll help the economy....and they won't dissapoint.

Gulfstream Florida Cape Dutch

I'm very excited to start a new design
project for one of my previous clients in the town of Gulfstream Florida.

Located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the
Atlantic Ocean, Gulfstream is a charming seaside town with a namesake private school my daughter attended when we lived in the neighboring city of Delray Beach.

Gulfstream is a place where golf cars are the preferred mode of transportation, crabs occasionally over-run the roads and
while at the beach you might see the sea turtle eggs hatch.  Truly a magical way of life!

photo from Seaside Properties Group

This is what the project looks like now...

The style is "Cape Dutch" which originated in South Africa.

A point lot on the Intracoastal waterway,
the house is flanked on two sides by water.

Here are a few original South African examples....

Withycombe Lodge Constantia

Cape Dutch homes feature distinct, flamboyant gables.  Charming no?

I have big plans for the interiors
which I will share with you in the coming months
but here is a sneak peek...

Cool green and blue hues will dominate
the main living areas....

I'll keep you updated on the progress in the coming weeks.

Until next time....

Idarica Gazzoni

Lately I have been coveting wallpapers and fabrics
by Italian designer Idarica Gazzoni....

The designer in Milan with a slipper chair covered in Mumtaz Bloom....the large scale print is fabulous...

House Beautiful featured this pomegranate themed wallpaper from the Arjumand collection....
named after the Persian Mogul princess who had 14 sons...

This "Day Screen" wallpaper print mimics wood
screens seen in Marrakesh or Jaipur...

Sofa Luxe
Russian Elle Decor featured this moody room with the sofa on the right in Tulip Sway...the tromp l'oeil painting in the background is incredible...

Other patterns in softer hues...

Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Designs
Get the same effect for less with a painted stencil...
This velvet covered Augustus console designed by London interior designer Alidad would be perfect mixed with Gazzoni fabrics....

Until next time....

Things have been haywire personally and amazingly busy work wise on my end for the past few months...Now I'm catching up with everything including Decor Dose posting which is long overdue!

I hope Dolly is right cause the last few
months have been a doozy!

To catch you all up here is a bit of what I've been up to lately...

The shoot I assisted with involved lots of adorable chicks, chicken/rooster chasing, delicious tail-gating and kids driving heavy machinery....
Oh yes and lots more chicken/rooster chasing!!

It was a top secret photo shoot so I'll spill the beans on
details when I'm allowed but you can buy fresh farm produce, milk, cheeses, butter, yogurt and eggs at my friend Svetlana's farm if you live in Palm Beach County, Florida.

I know it is showing up everywhere but I'm obsessed
with the hand painted wallpaper in the rooms below!!

I took a quick trip to NYC for the TEXWORLD
show at the Javits Center....NYC never ceases to inspire.
We were in a hurry so a quick bite and glass of Rose' at Eataly at happy hour hit the spot.  It was packed!

While in NYC I discovered two fabulous
trimming finds in the garment district you must check out:

Gorgeous hand made things....antique metallic beads and tassels...could have spent the day but had to rush....

Mokuba is awesome!!
Beautiful trims in hard to find colors and textures like leather, metallic and feathers....I spent an hour looking and didn't scratch the surface.

And back home on the Mommy front....

A trip to the Smithsonian with the Pre-k was a hoot hearing their take on ancient bronze artifacts.

And finally this gorgeous pair of arrangements made by Secret Garden Florist in Georgetown.  Can't rate them high be fair these were a week old when I took the photo but her work is amazing if you are in need of a florist and live in the DC VA MD area.

Hope all of you are enjoying these last days of summer as they are flying by too fast.

Periwinkle comes to Greenwich

Hello Lovies!
Summer is almost here in DC but I must say
I'm still enjoying the temps being in the 70's.....
and zero humidity!!

Florida does however have its charms and one of them is my friend Carrie Delafield's shop Periwinkle in Delray Beach.
